Speaker's Ruling on Detainee Issue - 2 weeks, or else.

It appears that the Speaker of the House of Commons has told the government that it has two weeks to come to a compromise that will allow the public to see the documents and national security or he will order it to happen.

This makes me happy. Just sayin`

Harper's Conservatives say "not funding abortion"

Oh dear,

I have always said that divisive issues suck, but it seems that the Conservatives want to take this wedge issue and press it down on Canadians. According to the Star, Conservative MP Jim Abbott said

"Canada's contribution to maternal and child health may include family planning. However, Canada's contribution will not include funding abortion."

This is obviously a tough issue to work with. This is not something that should be put into the political arena, but here the Conservatives have decided to take a step forward and push it in. I believe that our taxes should go towards these things. If this is going to prevent unsafe methods such as knitting needles and clothes hangers then it is definitely worth it. The state should not be pressuring women away from having this safe method of abortion

5am challenge - failing horribly.

So I really wanted to do this, but as my sleeping schedule is currently going from 4-5am until 12-1pm it has been VERY hard for me. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to get this 5am challenge started? I would love to hear it.

It seems that our beloved Facebook is down for the time being. Either that or a massive virus has gone around that makes the Facebook page unavailable and makes the first Google search result of Facebook "Karibu Facebook" and sniffs out our password from that.

I'm doing a system scan of my computer to figure things out. In the mean time, is anyone else having the same problem?

This got me thinking. It seems like we have become so dependent on Facebook that it seems weird to have it not be there. Perhaps this is a good thing, not being able to access this social networking site.

I suppose we'll find out sooner or later what is up. In the mean time I'll just have to use Twitter?..

The 5am challenge

Hey guys,

So I have been reading a blog by the Freestyle Mind and it is interesting what this blogger writes about.

I think I am going to try waking up at 5am for the next 30 days to see if I would like it. The person writing this blog has found that they have more time for personal projects or development.

I will be sure to tell you guys what I think of it as I am doing it.

I will keep you all updated here.

Home and resting

Hey guys,

I know it has been a fair amount of time between posts, but that is just because I moved back home in Burlington and it took me a bit of time to get everything back up and running.

I have found my camera and I therefore think that I may start Video Blogging or as those in the biz call it "Vlogging". I think it will be a fun and interesting adventure and I welcome you all to join me.

Obviously now that I have finished University I will no longer be blogging - as much - about all the campus politics and maybe focus more on provincial and federal politics.

I am currently looking for a job, so if anyone has any ideas or is looking for someone to work for them for a decent rate please let me know ASAP so that I can start making money.

I will be sure to keep all of you updated on my exploits through this beginning step of this new stage in my life.

Windows 7 hack anyone?

Hey guys,

So I am using windows 7 and I have this problem with the start bar. I have it hidden to provide myself with more room, however no matter where I put it, it seems to get in the way of things. If i have it on the left side, it gets in the way when I try to hit the back button on my google chrome, right side it gets in the way of me closing programs. Bottom it gets in the way of things that sit on the bottom of the screen and top same thing.

Ideally what I would like is for it to be locked close unless I press the windows key on my keyboard. However I cannot seem to find a hack to do this.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - and don't say move away from windows because I love windows. =-D

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Can I just say how frustrated I am with Aramark right now?

What type of company can get off doing a minimalist job and get a prospect for an expansion? I walk down there and they're missing tomatoes, no sausage for breakfast, sometimes they don't have hashbrowns. What makes them think that they could handle the amount of people that would be coming down to eat EVERYDAY if they can't even uphold the quality of C1C.

If I was not doing my job at work, they would not turn around and give me a raise, so why is Aramark so different? I feel sorry for anyone after me who will end up having to eat at one of their places exclusively. They claim they'll have shrimp cocktails, my bet is they'll be missing the shrimp.

That is all for today. Good luck on your exams everyone!
