Mr. Harper, I am begging you, sometime before you leave office, READ YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION!
the interesting thing about administrations in power is to see if they chose between holding onto the values of fairness and accountability that they origionially preached about when they were in opposition, or they choose to hold onto the power they now have by any means necessary. usually the last option is to tempting for most and so they naturally compromise thier origional position. however, the tactics they use in trying to hold onto power can be undemocratic, malicious and sometimes be a diservice to the very people they sought out to serve. such as intimidation, harrasement, exclusion or calling everyone with a different opinion a conservative conspirater. really this highlights the constant power stuggle within democracy between the government and the opposition.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with student governments is that there are rarely interested, effective and committed oppoistion members to hold student leaders accountable.
